Not sure I fully understand what does the sidebar mean in that case. I can see it on the main page at the right, 'Recent topics' and actually for me it's quite handy - I can recognize new threads which have been created recently. But I thought it's the only place where you can see them.

Oh oops, I forgot to mention the sidebar on topics doesn't show to premium accounts because of the disabled advertisements.
