  1. Deletion request processed. This can not be undone. If you wish to post again you will need to register a new account.
  2. Glad to hear the first bit at least. Still way too volatile for my liking. But then I don't have a lot of extra cash to be putting on risky bets.
  3. So how's that investment working out for you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have a high maintenance mouse trap called a cat. But lacking one of those, try ammonia or peppermint oil soaked into cotton balls and placed near where you found the mouse. They hate the smell and can drive them out without killing them.
  5. Well that didn't take long. Take a look at yesterday's Bitcoin crash. I expect this will be a regular occurrence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. No go for me. Too much risk for my liking, and no real regulation. Frankly, I'm just waiting for the Bitcoin crash and the horror stories of "I lost everything" that will inevitably follow.
  7. I haven't seen them outside as many stores this year. I generally don't walk by a single one without dropping in a couple of dollars. If I pass by a large number of them, this starts to become expensive. Same deal with anyone collecting for veterans or animal charities. Most of my expenses lately have been Christmas shopping. But I did just get to spend $240 on a new starter for my car, because it had to die while I was at work, of course...
  8. Whoa. I'm totally with you on that one. Is that really a thing though? Here, there's just a very small number of convenience stores open on Christmas. The Wawa convenience stores are the only ones who stay open all day, and only those that sell gas. The ones that don't close most of the day. Actual gas stations are the only other stores I know to be open. All of the retailers, even all of the fast food is completely shut down here all of Christmas day. On another thread related note, buying alcohol in my home state of Pennsylvania.
  9. Stores that open on Thanksgiving continues to make my yearly hate list. I don't care if the stores are giving things away for free, I DO NOT shop Thanksgiving. Where possible, I've even been looking to spend my money for the rest of the holiday season at stores which respect our holidays and family time. Fortunately a number of stores have the decency to keep shopping out of Thanksgiving. For the others, I can only hope they will fail as financially as they have morally.
  10. That must be when it gets to Georgia. Lots of rednecks there. Edit: Nope, Florida. Doing us proud. I can only imagine how this looks to the rest of the world.
  11. They have nothing to fear... http://bgr.com/2017/09/08/hurricane-irma-fans-facebook-event/
  12. Good question. Honestly I canceled my Netflix last year, because there were just too many currently airing series I was keeping up with on a weekly basis. They did just send me an offer for another free month, so I might take them up on it soon.
  13. There are really only a small number of forums left, in all subjects, that continue to be very large and active. Had SoccerPulse not shut down, I believe it would have continued to be one of those larger boards. This should bring back some memories: https://web.archive.org/web/20080729224125/http://www.soccerpulse.com/forum/
  14. I'm guilty on occasion. Though I do try to rely on voice dictation most of the time now. However, my work has me on local roads during late night hours, so I'm more likely to run into a deer or a tree than a person or another car. I guess I should add, I have thousands of hours behind the wheel and zero at-fault accidents in over 15 years. Like everything else, experience plays a part. Some people can barely even handle having a radio in their car without being too distracted. I remember years ago I used to see a lot of guys headed to work in the morning reading the newspaper, while having breakfast, while driving. And doing a darn fine job of it too.
  15. Actually, Male, ages 15-25. That was the majority of the SoccerPulse visiting audience. I haven't paid so much attention to that lately, because the sample numbers are far lower now. I was right in the middle of that demographic at 18 when SoccerPulse launched in 2002. But I guess in 15 years the Internet has evolved quite a bit, though not all for the better IMO. As for Reddit, I do browse occasionally. But the structure is kind of a mess. It's really the worlds biggest, more disorganized forum. I think it's sadly resulted in a lot less discussion overall, as you have a few people who do post something of significance while everyone else settles for a "like" or thumbs up.
  16. Technology and money. Discussions lost out to things like Facebook. Most discussion forums that were big in the SoccerPulse days have since closed up completely. I miss the activity as well.
  17. Sounds more like a lunch/dinner to me. I rarely manage more than a bowl of cereal in the morning. My most recent. Vornado fan. It got too hot too quickly here. This thing moves a ridiculous amount of air for something so small.
  18. Been a while since I had much interest in a comedy tv series, but Making History looks like it may be amusing. Starts next week.
  19. Should you wish to add an additional layer of security to your account, the site now supports the use of Google Authenticator. Using this requires installing the Google Authenticator app to your smartphone. When logging into the site and performing some actions such as changing your email or password, a secondary password provided by the Authenticator app will be required if you enable this security. This is totally optional for all users, but if you wish to configure this security for your account, head to the Account Security page.
  20. This announcement is a bit overdue, since the update was done more than a day ago. But there was much work to be done, so I put this off while getting things set up properly. I know some of you will like it, others won't. I've tried to keep at least the general color theme of the site similar to what we had, though the layout has changed. This is totally new software; it was written from the ground up as a replacement for some very old code. Unfortunately, time was not on our side. The previous software was only going to be supported by the developer for a few more months. After that, we would no longer get security updates. I don’t like running potentially at-risk software and I don’t want to create any extra opportunities for the site to get hacked. Moving forward was the only option. The previous version we were running was introduced in 2009, around the same time as the iPhone 3GS. Things have changed a bit in the past 7 years, including how we access content. The new SoccerShouts theme is designed around content access from every device. Open the site on a PC, tablet or smartphone and the theme adapts to you. Work in portrait, or flip the device into landscape and the theme will adjust accordingly. No more ugly, half-functional mobile site. While there are a number of nice new features, one I feel needs attention is the followers system. This replaced the friends system, and it's actually useful now. Follow someone on the site, and you will get notifications about new content they create. You can further improve your experience by adjusting your notification settings to just see them on the site or get emails sent to you at regular intervals. So go ahead and follow @Footballars account, and get updates on his latest video posts. There will be more coming in the following days, but for now, take a look around and see what you think. If there's something you really don't like or anything appears out of place, let me know so I can take a look. Considering the last major update was six years ago, we'll probably be working with this software for a while. So might as well do it right.
  21. Individual league discussion boards have been combined into a single Teams & Leagues discussion forum. Should post activity warrant an expansion again in the future it will be considered. But recently there has been little to no actual discussion.
  22. My dad did the same thing. Watched season 1 of Blacklist, got distracted by other shows and hasn't been back to catch up. I did the same thing with Homeland. I'm not even sure if I finished season 1. I was watching it, then just sort of forgot about it. I'd have a lot of catching up to do.
  23. Right now, not much. Most shows are still on break. I don't even know yet what's done and what's returning. I just finished season 2 of Man in the High Castle. Also watching Vikings and the Blacklist.
  24. Exactly. Now that we aren't requiring registration just to view links, registrations will be much, much lower. But hopefully those that are taking the time to register prefer to participate, letting guests hit & run if they were only interested in the downloads.
  25. Site may be temporarily slowed while massive pruning of the member database takes place. As previously announced, old unused accounts are being removed. Any account that has 0 posted content and has not logged in since Oct. 7, 2015 will be included in the purge. This affects (sadly) the majority of accounts on the site. Approximately 20% of registered accounts will remain.
