  1. 100 Players Who Shook The Kop ... From Alf Hanson & Bill Jones to Britain's most expensive teenager Alun Evans & Matt Busby No.92 - Alf HansonNo.91 - Bill Jones No.90 - Alun Evans No.89 - Matt Busby
  2. Oh I see. I was looking for some settings inside my profile instead. Thank you for answer and for reading all my posts as well
  3. I see what you mean here. But I should make myself more clear then and ask instead how do you define activity. There are might be few users who will regularly post let's say in England Discussion forums thus you will get new threads and posts every day. However you won't going to see hundreds and thousands views, unless those few guys will endlessly view those topics all day long, which is a little bit insane of course. For me this is activity, as for forums itslef where the main things is not only posts but views as well, it is not. Am I right here? Anyway I would also like to say, that chance people will post here or elsewhere, not only depends on view counts and recent activity, but also their own desire to post and perhaps something more advance. For example, I eventually visit fbtz forums, however I don't want to post there, I don't feel like it despite the fact there are heaps of activity, many topics, subforums for many clubs and active conversations, it is all there. But I do not want post there. I want to post on Soccershouts, doesn't matter how active (or not) & flooded (or not) forums, how many people around. Unless of course it is abandoned place and last post been made like years ago I actually statred posting here because of that. It was one of the reason. Of course it is me, and I'm not speaking for everybody, but I am sure there are users like me as well in some way. It is like playing a game you really like. You won't bother if it's old, bad or short, if you like you will play it. The same with movies, books, I guess with many things. Perhaps not the best exmaple, I know, but that's just to make myself clear. And of course there's no way I'm trying to convince you to something, just feel like I have to say it. Anyway, seeing those graphics and statistics I understand what you means. That is just fair enough. I think will not touch this subject again, perhaps some time later when some things will change around (or not). As on cutoff, great to see many topics back. Thank you for dropping it. I think as main purpose of the forums is soccer\football itself it is understandable people come here not just because speak of computer games or music. Thus I think it will be handy just put cutoff down for all those offtopic threads and leave it in soccer\football threads. Someone will ocassionaly visit and post in offtopics forums as well, at least now some threads over there. I also would like to know how can I adjust my board view settings, or does it works only for board staff? Thank you for explaining these things to me, appreciate it.

  5. But that what exactly keeps me from posting in England discussions and pushing me off, haha. You'll wait when there will be enough Liverpool's threads to make it a subforum while me waiting when it will be separate subforum to start making enough posts & topics and flood it. Just like a secluded circle for me. I wonder what's others opinion on this and what the motivation to post. But let's say, if I will actively make threads and will flood it by myslef, will it be enough to make separate subforum or you will wait for more people to join me ? What is the main purpose, I mean do you need an activity or more active users? I'm just curious, nothing more I won't gonna spam threads just for the sake of it, no worries. As for hidden posts, I am not fully udnderstand what does 'adjust a cutoff' means in this case. But I think I will leave this question because I see you aware of it and will change it. Thank you for quick response.
  6. I would like to share recent thought that I've had, while browsing forums. So I was thinking to make a few threads in English soccer sections, some things about Liverpool, probably not the most important ones but still. However, right now there's quite a mess in whole English forums, as many threads & categories been merged, I thought those threads will be eventually lost and decided not to do that. I understand though, this forums requiers some clean and restruction and of course I know you will do that in time. However my point is to make it better and easy, as well as rebuild it in some kind of structure as it was before. I remember due to lack of activity, you deleted all the subforums and did as one England soccer one. It is understandable but it is actually pushing me off to post more. I think it might be better to remake those subforums, as for some clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, make separate section for Championship as well, because there are lots of good teams and I know Muur do some posts about Bolton, when he is around. It will be quite handy and useful, also easy and quicker find what you actually looking for. I know TNB wanted to clean these forums so hopefully he will look for this suggestion as well. I actually liked those subforums and it might atract more users in the future. I know there are many Liverpool supporters around, and many of them share some bits of thoughts in LFC Video thread. If activity for some clubs will be big, you may eventually create more subforums if it will be needed. Another thing I would like to talk about is hidden threads. I remember it was done about the same time as England forums were merged. I don't know how this thing is actually work but I realized that it maybe another point to think about. I browsed some forums, like Another sport section for an instance, and didn't find any single thread inside. it is just empty. I mean I know the reason, I know threads are there you just need to search it, however how many new users or even current ones actually aware of this? Let's take this example, new guy registered and browsed some forums. He want to make thread in Game section about Skyrim, As you might see, there's no such thread, you can't see it. Just a few threads about some games, so what would he do? That's right, he will make Skyrim thread. I would do the same. I am sure not many people knows about this system which make inactive threads hidden or archive or whatever you call it. I didn't know about before, it unusual and uncommon. I mean, I like to use search when I see lots of threads just to make sure avoid double thread or find ones I looking for. But if I see few threads I won't gonna do search. No point, because I think I know there's only few ones. Thus we will eventually make double threads instead which will make forums even more flooded. On the other hand, let's imagine, someone made thread in video section and post some old match or documentary or something many supporters were looking for. No need to post in this thread regularly, people just visit it, download file. However, after some time of inactivity, thread will disappear. As well as capper's work and after some time another user will come and make thread with request for this file without knowing there it is. Thus yet again more threads. I can see purpose of this system, it actually might be quite good, when forums has hundreds of posts every day and really big activity, where hard to moderate and look for every single topic in particular. But in SS case, when most users come here for videos and not look for discussions, eventually more and more topics will be hidden, and some sections will be like ghosts one. So if it possible I think it will be good bring everything back. Well not everything, manually delete some old threads, clean a little and leave the rest of them. Well I remember there was alot of topics in Liverpool subforum, but I cannot remember the names of them so I have to start again. Which is another negative thing here. I suggest to think about. That was again long post, so appreciate your time for reading this. I hope I am not sounds like moaner, I like and admire all your job around here, your desire to make this place better and welcome. Just want to suggest and help as well. Thank you (:
  7. It is upgrade, not downgrade, Luke
  8. I think I know what are you talking about and that's actually pretty good feature. As for skins, Eight & Modern are my favourite ones but I can see the point of their deletion, so probably can pick something new. Thanks for quick answer
  9. If some of you played the very first Max Payne, you might see how resembling this guy to orirginal character of this game. Or better say, it's Max Payne resembling Sam Lake (guy from video) becasue Sam was the prototype. The point of this video is actually it's just a little over one day you can buy Alan Wake: Collectors Edition & American Nightmare (along with lots of other bonuses) just for any price you want, on Humble Bundle. It's DRM-free of course. If you will spend $1 or more you will get Steam keys as well. Here's the link http://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
  10. That was worries me the most. Perhaps I can live with all kind of restrictions & limitations, I have quite good Internet connection and unlimited bandwidth, not really bother to trade games, however knowing that some weird eye will be watching me every time, 24\7, and recodrind all my life thus some FBI Microsoft guys can have in cloud storage just scary me off. You know, this all reminds of the Watch Dogs game from Ubisoft. Did you see some trailers od it? Where the whole world can be controlled by numerous digital devices, computers and programs. So this is basically happens. The idea of what Microsoft trying to do is implement some sort of controll over you. If new xbox will be exact like it is now I won't be upset that much, there's still lots of ways to play games. But imagine if it will work (xbox one) and that will means, our future might be not that bright. Many can follow Microsoft example, thus more restrictions. it sounds perhaps silly but all those movies about evil corporations which will controll people, actually might be true. There's another thing I wanted to post about but there's video already. As it's been said, 'region-locking is currently almost non-existent on PS3, a console that answers to the same country-specific regulatory guidelines'. I just wonder, how big should confidence be or perhaps desire to make money, better say. Cannot wait for E3 so to see what those games you can play on xbox one.
  11. Sounds good, looking forward to. Is there will be any visaul changes or perhaps some more features? I know it all will be announced in the right time, I just curious (: I also would like to know more about skins that will be departing. As I am the only one who use 'Eight' theme, I hope it won't mean it will be deleted. Or perhaps introduce the new one similar to it. I agreed on gallery however. I almost never used it and I always keep it hidden. As main purpose of these forums is sharing video content, such as matches, highlights and compilations, which is quite popular, I think this is good idea. Appreciate this update, thank you.

  14. I see you got an intro now (looks good) or perhaps it was there all the time and I just realized it haha. Enjoyed the video, still find some moments I've never seen before. Is skills show 2 coming? Added separate links for Carragher's documentary.
  15. If you think there's too much control and DRM things with new Microsoft console, then you might think again, because there is probably even more - Visual DRM. Xbox One: Will Kinect 2 Use Visual DRM? Microsoft has responded to fresh privacy concerns over a patent from 2011 that suggests Kinect 2 may be used as a form of visual DRM, should the company decide to implement such a measure in Xbox One. ExtremeTech discovered the filing back in November, which is labelled as covering "content distribution regulation by viewing user." Theoretically, if the Kinect establishes there are more people in the room than is permitted according to the licence that users agree to when renting of purchasing content, the movie won't play. "The users consuming the content on a display device are monitored so that if the number of user-views licensed is exceeded, remedial action may be taken," it reads. According to unverified "industry sources" spoken to by MCV within the last month, this is a real thing Microsoft is planning to implement on Xbox One using Kinect 2. Today, however, the company has responded to speculation with the following statement: "Microsoft regularly applies for and receives patents as part of its business practice; not all patents applied for or received will be incorporated into a Microsoft product." That appears to be all the information the company is sharing for now. While there's no guarantee it's true, if it is then it's latest instance of a potentially concerning encroachment into privacy. Seeing as we already know that the Kinect 2's microphone will always be on and the new console won't function without the device, such a measure isn't out of the question. Microsoft has, however, already told Polygon that privacy is of the utmost importance when it comes to Xbox One and Kinect. "The new Kinect is listening for a specific cue, like 'Xbox on'. We know our customers want and expect strong privacy protections to be built into our products, devices and services, and for companies to be responsible stewards of their data. Microsoft has more than 10 years of experience making privacy a top priority. Kinect for Xbox 360 was designed and built with strong privacy protections in place and the new Kinect will continue this commitment." IGN

  22. Having so much duscussion just another proof how unclear & confusing Microsofr event was. One thing whether is good or bad, but wonder and have that much questions in just a few days is something I didn't really expect to. I cannot remember what was Sony event all about (perhaps because I haven't seen and just did watch some short videos after) but at least many things they did say were about games. As you might already noticed, all my points were not about myslef (though some of them really concerns me), I mean I'm not complain that much about those restriction, always on internet and even headsets. However, there are so many restrictions & limitations and odd things, that you eventually think, do you really want xbox tv which you cannot watch or you just want new gaming console which should play your games. As for headsets, I might doubt there will be some sort of adapters, due to Microsoft decision change proprietary chat port & abandon the chat cable, however here already some news about this: Microsoft Taps Turtle Beach for Xbox One Headsets Hot on the heels of our report that the Xbox One would be incompatible with current-generation gaming headsets, Microsoft and Turtle Beach have announced a partnership to produce new gaming audio products using the console's new proprietary chat port. Additional details about the new range of accessories aren't expected to arrive until E3, but the company promises pricing and release information will be revealed in "the coming weeks." While Turtle Beach is said to be "among the first" to market with new audio products for the Xbox One, Microsoft will also be partnering with other brands. With the introduction of the Xbox One, Microsoft has abandoned the chat cable used currently in the Xbox 360, rendering current products from brands like Turtle Beach, Astro Gaming, Tritton, and others capable of delivering only in-game audio. What's more, the company intends to closely manage third-party accessories via a licensing program that would require manufacturers to adhere to strict guidelines in order to support the new platform. Like many of the other lingering questions regarding the Xbox One, Microsoft's accessory plans will be discussed in greater detail at this year's E3. IGN As I said I don't really mind to buy another TB headset, as I might use my current on PC as well (and even PS 3 if I'm not mistaken) but still I feel some sort of restriction here once again. Might check what Sony will do about this or wait untill they announce it. I am up for changes. I like it and usually can adapt quickly to most of them, and many things may actually be good, at least for someone. That's a good question about new wired controllers. It seems you won't have them for Xbox One, I mean what the purpose? But making them only for PC might be a question for Microsoft.
  23. I was trying to keep it short, but I just cannot resist and sometimes just have no ability to make good & short posts, so my apology for all that long read. I cannot even call it shiny to be fair, it seems so boxy & oversized I care less how it looks like of course, as much as most gamers I believe, but in this case when all the 'features' mostly confusing and gives you heaps of restrictions rather than bonuses you want at least to think it will look nice & pretty. However, it is not. One thing I like about new Xbox One, is actuall controller. I was wondering whether it will be compatible with 360, but I believe now it was quite stupid guess and it won't. However there's a chance it will be compatible with PC. If you can find the way plug it into your machine.
  24. And one more 'good' news. Xbox One Incompatible with Current Gaming Headsets Of the many details that began to trickle out of Microsoft's Xbox One reveal, the next-gen console's controller accessory port went largely unnoticed, but its inclusion could have a lasting impact for players. As we learned during our hands-on session, the new controller will come equipped with a new, proprietary data port that replaces the chat cable connector found on the current generation, which a trusted source tell us will make the system incompatible with existing gaming headsets, including high-end audio products like those made by Astro Gaming, Turtle Beach, Tritton, and others. While game audio will be available through the system's optical port, in order to support chat communications, headsets will be required to make use of the new connection type. While it's possible that either Microsoft or third-party makers could develop an adapter to offer backwards compatibility, we're told that the new port is part of a larger strategy to gain control over the accessory market. Manufacturers will not only need to develop entirely new products for the new connection standard, but use licensing and authentication protocols from Microsoft, potentially driving up costs for consumers. The licensing program could also limit the variety and competitive nature of the accessory market since all manufacturers would be required to adhere to Microsoft's terms. On the other hand, the proprietary format could offer significant improvements to the chat audio experience. The new data port reportedly supports stereo audio, potentially for the purpose of delivering game audio directly from the controller or simply boosting mono chat audio in the current-gen to stereo. In the case of the latter, stereo chat audio could lead to virtualized directional communications, allowing players to hear where a nearby player is speaking from — a feature currently found in PC titles like ARMA 2. When reached for comment, Microsoft representatives didn't explicitly state that current hardware was incompatible, but rather that the company was focusing on new devices: "We are working with 3rd party headset manufacturers to create new headsets that will take full advantage of the Xbox One technology," company representatives said. "We will share more details in the future." It's also unclear is whether Microsoft is currently developing a headset solution of its own or will instead utilize the Kinect's noise cancellation and player detection technology to serve as the primary chat receiver. IGN I'm not going to complain about my Turtle Beach headset. I still can use it with PC anyway, however I can imagine huge frustration from many gamers around. Basically, all your cool stuff won't going to work with new xbox.
