1. As a nice surprise for the new year, I just looked at the stats at the bottom of the forum and noticed we were at exactly 50,000 posts. Still seems a bit strange to me as a couple of years ago I was talking about multi-million post achievements. But for starting fresh and rebuilding with a new site and a new team, this is a good start. I look forward to seeing things develop much further over the course of this year.

  2. Just want to wish everyone a safe and happy new year.

I look forward to seeing SoccerPulse continue its success through 2011. Thanks to all of the members who have stayed with us, and the new members who have joined us over the past year.

    -Bill

  3. I also noticed your post in the suggestions category. Not going to happen though. They may be a bit slow, but almost every subsection has had activity within the past 3 days. There isn't much point to merge them together when they will only need to split again in the future.

  4. That is still out for now until the site picks up a lot more. I know the chat is better for live discussion during games, etc., but even when SP had 250+ members on at a time it was difficult getting 5-10 in at one time to chat. Right now we would all be practicing talking to ourselves (which I am actually pretty good at).

  5. Just wanted to make a quick announcement regarding the World Cup 2010 forums. I have placed all WC2010 discussion forums in a read-only status. If you wish to preserve any posts or other content from these forums please do so over the next couple of weeks. On or around September 15, I will be removing the forums from public view. (done)

    Other minor changes coming soon:

SP Compilation Competition 1 forum has ended and will be set to read-only status around September 15. (done)

Forums in Soccer Europe and General Discussion category will be reorganized according to the current popularity, giving preference to most active forums. (done)

Humor forum in Off the Pitch will become a Lounge subforum. (done)

Freestyle forum in Soccer Video will be removed, with threads from this forum being moved to the Miscellaneous section of Soccer Video. (done)

World Cup 2010 video forum will be set to read-only on or around October 1. A Previous Tournaments forum will be created, and the WC2010 video forum made part of this forum. (done)

    ---

Let me know if you have any other ideas for fixing up the forums, or have some reason to dispute any of the above changes.

    Regards,

    Bill

  6. It is somewhat unique, if fairly short. Of course, you can play through it a fair number of times as there are a number of different endings.

More interestingly, if you wait a while longer not only will you be able to get the game even cheaper, but the game is supposed to have an upcoming patch to work with the Playstation Move controls.

  7. So much for my plan to call the group "We are the best and the rest of you are peons." :P I guess something like Legends could work. And I will apologize for even thinking about doing things based on a post count. That just goes to show how tired I was, as any previous experiment we did using post counts for anything other than promoting New Members to Members turned out to be a disaster.

  8. I'd consider it, but it has been determined that financial issues are not present, so it would have to be done in a different form. The only two ways I can think of at the moment are by setting a reasonably high post count promotion, or by having team members select outstanding members for group recognition.

If you have any other suggestions, let me know. It's 4am so I'm not thinking as clearly as I might be in the pm hours.

Okay it seems to be set up properly now. Rather than creating a special tag, I'm using the built in media tag. It is easier since you can copy the entire url from your browser.

Inside of the Media tag you can also enter add photo sets for Flickr, as well as Google Video, Myspace video, and Youtube, using the same format of entering the full url inside the media tag.

  10. Let me work that out tonight. A specific new code would need to be written to handle that. I'm assuming that in facebook.com/v/253605525576, the /v/ part is always the same and only the number changes? Sorry but I have no experience with Facebook. For display purposes, do the width and height variables always remain the same? If not it will be more difficult for people to easily embed this, as the code would need to be something like [fbvideo]32593598237,400,224[/fbvideo]
