Interesting, I will look into it. Not sure why it comes back now.
Edit: I think I got it. Let me know if you still notice the issue.

That costs more money than it's worth. I just want to get that money back, and put it behind me. Not worth the trouble to give them any more attention.
Also, to anyone that was didn't get the details on this earlier, keep an eye on the SS facebook page. I was keeping up to date posts on there about the site status, and I also posted an announcement on SoccerPulse, in case anyone thought to check that.

I'll begin by saying the last 18 hours or so were completely unplanned. Here's a quick rundown of events.
May 2: Discussion with the host regarding the sites high-normal resource usage. After a brief discussion, it was determined that we were okay to continue.
Host:
Bill,It should be fine then, I'll make a note on your account of our
communication and unless traffic goes up 35%+ this month again it should
not be a problem.
Take Care,
May 8: Good day. I attend a good friends wedding, come home and relax. Make a post or two before going to bed. Refresh the page one last time before I call it a night, and find an account suspended message. Wtf? So much for sleep. Get in contact immediately with the host. Suspended for the same thing we just discussed. Huh?
Host:
Unfortunately the account will need to remain suspended until it can be migrated to another platform, I will not reactivate it on a shared account. Please purchase a Cloud Web Server and a tech can assist you further. Also please pay the outstanding administrative fee for this necessary action. But as for me personally I am going back to bed.
Take Care,
Keep in mind the site growth was flat during the May 2-8 period, possibly even a bit lower than when we had the original chat.
I think I see the plan here. Payment date for hosting is the 5th, so wait until after they get more of my money to change their mind. Those two posts from the host are both from the owner no less, so it isn't different people with differing opinions.
Then they go and tack on a $50.00 administrative fee automatically charged to my credit card, so now I have to file a chargeback for unauthorized use.
So, I've taken my backups and moved to a new host. Sean at Speedy Sparrow (http://www.speedysparrow.com) has been understanding of the situation and extremely helpful assisting with the restoration of the backups so we could get back up and running quickly. I wish I had investigated this host earlier.
I'm really quite annoyed over the whole situation, but I am happy we are back up and running in less than a day, with no loss of any data. If you do see any bugs though, report them as usual.

Sorry to bother you, I have a problem, why this account(inter-inner) can not log in.
Hi, this account was suspended as a duplicate account for a suspended member. Extra user accounts are not permitted for suspended users.

I'm certainly not happy about this for sure. I do have a debit card linked with that account, but it is an account I typically keep less than $100 available on, so my risk is minimal. I have not seen any indicator so far that the account has been compromised.
What I like less is the compromise of personal information. I am a very paranoid person, and as such I do not maintain any public information on any social networking sites or anywhere else information could be easily obtained. Fortunately, my information on account with PSN wasn't entirely accurate, as I have the wrong state set to avoid local sales tax. Still, that leaves my name, the rest of my address, birth date, and account name/password exposed.
They have some major making up to do. I already have an Xbox 360, so most of my future game purchases will likely favor that system with the exception of system exclusives. I wouldn't want my account deleted though. When that happens all of the money I've spent on download content becomes worthless.

Although we are still investigating the details of this incident,we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following
information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country,
email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login,
and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data,
including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip),
and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may
have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your
dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have
been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit
card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have
provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity,
out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit
card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have
been obtained.

Man, tough week to get in any game play on Playstation Network (PSN). For anyone who has yet to notice, PSN has been down since April 20th when the network was compromised. In the latest news posting from the Playstation Blog, Sony admits they don't know when the service will be back up and running. [source]
Additionally, my own concerns lie in the details from various news postings that some of the attacks focused on servers containing user account information. I have found no details from Sony at this point detailing exactly what has been compromised.
On the plus side, my Xbox 360 has been getting even more love this past week. Any of you readers missing out on your PSN access?

Updated with info provided by Samer regarding a Windows phone 7 app.
I'm surprised to see few people using the mobile features. I've been using it on my old Blackberry and it works nicely. I'm sure those accessing it with the proper apps for Android and iPhone will have an even better experience.

Well, I can't say I grew up with Pokemon. I looked up US licensing, and it was licensed from 1998 onwards. By 1998 I was already 15, so I got to see the Pokemon craze from a different viewpoint.
Not really anime, but I had cartoons like He-Man, Transformers, TMNT, Thundercats, etc. You know, all the stuff they've been destroying in the past few years with "re-imaginings" in series and movies.

Bleach, if only I had the time to catch up...
Berserk was mentioned earlier in this thread and that was great. Also a big fan of Banner of the Stars. I have an enormous collection actually. Shame the US market really dried up in the past couple of years.

I posted this as an article that is available at the top of the page, but though a proper announcement would be helpful.

If you are having any problem accessing the chat or you get an error message, just refresh the page. It seems some people are getting an error message the first time they ever connect to the chat, but but it seems to clear up for subsequent visits.
Post to this thread if you continue to have problems accessing the chat.

It's in the first page of the control panel when you go to "My Settings". You probably just need the box for Daylight savings to be checked.

We have received enough applicants at this time. Watch for open enrollment again in the future as the site continues to grow.
In a shift from general policy of selecting and approaching members, I'm going to try something different.
We could use a few new moderators to keep the site well ordered as we continue to grow. If you are interested in being a moderator on SoccerPulse, please send me a personal message letting me know what forums you want to moderate and what you can bring to the team. Please no applicants for the video forums. Video moderators are not needed at this time.
The main requirements I'm looking for are people who have been with the site for at least a month or two with a steady posting history and neutral or positive reputation score. Prior warnings and post quality will also be reviewed.
-
At the beginning of the month, several thousand unused SoccerPulse accounts were deleted from the system. System resources are not an issue, but this deletion opened thousands of short unique usernames for others to register. In the future, these delete operations will be routine. So, don't want your account deleted? It is very easy to keep your account.
Either: Make at least 2 posts on the forum where posts are counted (Word & Post games do not count).
OR
Log in at least once every three months.
Accounts that have at least 2 posts will never be removed, and accounts active within 3 months time are also excluded. The only exception will be users flagged as spammers, who will have their accounts deleted regardless of their post count.

Sorry, that video is marked as private. I don't think anyone is going to be able to help as long as it is private.

I did, once. The first Modern Warfare was pretty damn good. The second didn't seem like anything new or special, and I ended up selling my copy after a few months. Black Ops I'm just not interested in at all.
My opinion might be a bit biased though as I'm more of a Battlefield person. Looking forward to BF3 this holiday season.

I'm glad you like the changes. If you see anything you think could be changed, send me a note and let me know. I could always use fresh ideas.

The custom URL can be added when 25 people "like" the page.

Facebook Update:
As of today, you can now access the SoccerPulse Facebook site via the URL: http://www.facebook.com/SoccerPulse

To reduce redundancy the Other Euro teams discussion was removed and all threads merged to General Soccer Talk. The two forums were generally hosting the same kinds of discussion, so it made sense to only keep one of them.
-
An update with a major change to non-European league forums. The European soccer category has been renamed "Teams & Leagues", with all forums remaining as they were.
The Around the World category has been converted to a forum that now resides in the newly renamed "Teams & Leagues" category, and all forums such as the Australian soccer, North American soccer, etc. are now subforums.
This change was made due to the generally limited interest being shown in non-European teams on the forum. In the near future, some of the Around the World subforums may be merged to the main forum.
In addition, the Portuguese and Scottish soccer forum have been merged to the Other European Teams forum, also due to limited interest by the current member population.
-
A few more forum merges:
To North American Soccer:
MLS
To Games:
Soccer Management Games
FIFA & Pro Evolution Games
To Music:
Hip Hop, Rap, R&B Music
Up Next will be the merger of French Soccer, Portuguese Soccer, and Scottish Soccer. These forums are not showing much activity any longer and would be best served sharing the Other Teams forum.
-
Based on current posting levels, a number of forums were reduced in size by merging their subforums into the parent forum.
The following forums were removed:
To English Soccer:
Coca League
Three Lions
Other EPL
Totenham
To Italian Soccer:
AC Milan
AS Roma
Inter Milan
Juventus
To Spanish Soccer:
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Valencia
To Kit Bag:
The Boot Room
All threads that were contained in the above listed subforums can now be found in their parent forum. These changes are semi-permanent. In other words, when posting levels grow and the need arises to give certain teams their own forums, it will be done. Right now, it is just excessive to break things down so far.

One skin can get boring, and I know some people would like something other than the red skins that seem to have followed me around for most of the last decade. Now you have a choice in the color blue. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and change the skin dropdown from SS v1 to SS Blue, you can try out the new skin. I'm planning to add a few more skins in the future.
Please be aware that new members won't have this option, only those in the regular Members group (5+ posts).
