  1. I'm actually surprised to hear this. Out of all of my console systems, I think this seen the least use of any of them. As part of a payment arrangement for an old gaming website I owned many years ago, I received the N64, a couple controllers, memory card, rumble packs, and some games. I did play on the system for a while and even bought a few extra games. But compared to my Playstation, I just wasn't getting a lot of use out of it. Part of it may have been the controller. I really can't think of too many controllers worse than this one. Well, perhaps the one that came with the Atari Jaguar (but I didn't own one of those).
  2. I almost didn't want to reply to this thread, seeming like the old guy in the room again. But my first owned system was the NES. My parents had the Atari 2600 and I played a bit on that too, but it wasn't "my" system. Without getting into handhelds, from there I owned SNES, Playstation 1, N64, Xbox, and now Xbox360 and PS3.
  3. After what seems like far longer, SoccerShouts celebrates our first year online today. It's been an interesting year to say the least. Moving away from Soccerpulse, the site and name I knew for almost a decade was a fresh start for us. Much of the year was unfortunately spent seeking a quality stable host and keeping things running. I am happy to report that after all of those troubles things are now stable and the site has continued to grow in posts and members. I'd like to thank the members and staff who have stuck with us through everything. I think our second year will be even better.
  4. One benefit I guess to having the backlog of games that I do is getting releases like this fairly late. Not only will I get it cheaper now, but there's a game of the year edition with "Undead" included.
  5. That's a recommendation for sure. I don't know too many people who would torture themselves 3 times through a movie they don't like. Last thing I watched was the movie Hop on Easter. Seemed appropriate.
  6. Anyone watch Restaurant Impossible on Food TV? They're filming about 5 minutes from my house today. Work tonight so can't RSVP for dinner, but would love to meet Chef Robert.
  7. To me it looks like what you would get if you let multiple people play sides on a big air hockey table. Not that I consider that a bad thing.
  8. Yes, I do believe you will need to reach 5 posts to change your display name. However if you need the change made sooner you can post the change request here and one of us will take care of it ASAP.
  9. I have friends that have played and love the game. They are still holding out for an HD remake to appear. Myself, I don't really play these types of games. I tend to find the random battles and battle system in general tedious. But, I'm an action gamer who mostly plays shooters. Still, there's no arguing with the legions of fans this game has, and would certainly top a good number of players lists of favorite games.
  10. Server seemed to be acting up today with minor downtimes multiple times. I've rebooted the server, hopefully that clears it up.

Seems the rebooting was pointless. It's a routing issue from the host. The server is working just fine, it's the network causing a few problems these past few days.

  11. I didn't watch Flash Forward, but I'm a bit sad over the loss of Terra Nova. Unfortunately I made the mistake of keeping up with it weekly and enjoying it without waiting to see how it developed into another season. There was talk of Netflix picking it up, but they have lost interest and they are still looking to see if anyone else is interested in picking up the series. I can't say I have any real hope for it now though.
  12. I just watched it a week or so ago myself. Thinking that rating is about right, if maybe a bit generous. More like 5/10 for me. Also just watched Hangover 2 finally last week. Good, but not quite as good as the first. Maybe 7/10.
  13. The short answer is yes. We've migrated to this new site after the new owner of the SoccerPulse name abandoned work and support of the site. If you'd like to read up on what has happened since the original closure of SP in 2009, the long answer is here: http://www.soccershouts.com/forum/topic/10281-welcome-to-soccershouts/ In any case, welcome to SoccerShouts. I'm sure you will find it much of the same regardless of the name we now use.
  14. Right now I'm catching up on the last seasons of Eureka and Doctor Who. I'm also keeping up with Hawaii Five-O, but the air dates seem to be sporadic and hard to figure out. On the Netflix front, I'm finally getting back into Being Human from season 2 on. I lost track of it after the first season and am just now getting back to it. And yes, UK version. At least as far as Sci/Fantasy TV, Americans seem to have no damn clue how to make a good show. Nor does it seem that most Americans have much interest in it. Every time one of our major networks pick up the rights to a new Sci-fi type series, it ends up getting cancelled by the end of the first season. This has happened so many times I've actually refused to watch such series made/aired here until after they've already extended into at least a second season. I've noted a similar trend in books, where most of the time when I flip to the author info at the back, I find a British or even Australian writer. That's a subject for another thread though.
  15. Head to the appropriate gallery section, in this case wallpapers: http://www.soccershouts.com/forum/gallery/album/1-wallpaper/ Near the top you should see an "Upload" button. Select the file(s) you wish to upload on the following screen, along with image details such as title and descriptive tags, and submit. You can also create your own albums inside of the most global albums, and any work uploaded into the member portfolios requires the creation of a personal album.
  16. Game of Thrones season 2 coming back in less than a week. If you haven't caught the first season now would be a great time to catch up.
  17. Well finished up Gears 3 last week. Not sure if it's just been too long since I played the prior games, but this one did seem like the best of the bunch and a fittingly "Epic" conclusion to the trilogy. I've since gone back to playing Battlefield 3 online. I really, really need to actually stop doing that and play the campaign already.
  18. There's quite a lot to be found in the arcade. I also have Torchlight, Zen Pinball, Bastion, and several more. At 1/4 or less the price of a regular retail game, the value on some of these titles is excellent. For those of us over the age of 15 who grew up with Atari, NES, SNES, etc, we probably have a greater appreciation of the simpler titles/experiences.
  19. 'Splosion man can actually be quite tough on some levels. Also, there's a sequel if you like the first one enough. Ms. Splosion man. As for getting my parents to play video games, I've given up on that years ago. The last system they really enjoyed playing was the Atari 2600.
  20. If enabled, the watermark is permanently added to the uploaded file. If the image is downloaded it will contain the mark.
  21. Watermarking is permitted to be enabled/disabled on user galleries. If enabled, a SoccerShouts watermark will be placed on any images when uploaded. If you want your own custom watermark, you would have to add it to your images before uploading.
  22. Being American, I'll have to assume we do it right and everyone else has it wrong. Isn't that usually how it works?
  23. I was reading this in total confusion for a moment or two. Then I remembered you folks drive on the wrong side of the road.
  24. I was going to jump into Deus Ex, but I had Gears of War 3 in my rental queue and it showed up in my mailbox, so I started that instead.
  25. SoccerShouts has been updated! We're now running the newest forum software, which I'm sure will look a bit different than you are used to seeing. I know there are some things missing, and some things like the logo that need a bit of work. Please bear with me as I will be working over the next couple of days to restore missing functionality. However, if you see anything that is obviously broken or likely a bug of any kind, please mention it here or send me a message so I can look into it. Coming soon will be a whole new skin. For the next couple of days I thought it would be best to keep a familiar skin available while everyone adjusts to the new layout and features offered by the new software. Let me know what you think.
