  1. Good job by Germany, happy to see a few Bundesliga players out there :D Australia are a weak side, but this is a very unforgiving tournament and you will be exposed. I actually wanted to see more of Klose (my favorite German player), he could've scored a few out there today. Nice to see some goals! Can't wait for tomorrow's games.

  2. USA: Quite impressive, showed composure after the early goal, didn't make any stupid mistakes, no silly yellow/red cards. I thought Cherundolo, DeMerit, and Onyewu were immense. For all the questions surrounding Onyewu he came up today when most needed. Cherundolo on the right was great, glad to see a Bundesliga man put up a nice performance at the WC :D. DeMerit followed Rooney most of the match, a few times he got away from DeMerit but couldn't put it in the back of the net. MOTM for me was Tim Howard, very easy choice, the stops he made were game changers. The only negative aspect to his game tonight was he at times just kicked balls out of bounds, and right back to England's keeper. These are opportunities for potential possession. Thats about the only negative thing I can nit-pick about tonight with Tim Howard :D

England: Terrible howler by Green, England had 4 years to figure out their keeper situation and still haven't done so. For crying out loud, up to the game today no one had a clue who was starting in goal for England. Aside from that, I thought England were a bit nervous to be honest. They really didn't come out of their shell, at times I got a sense they weren't hungry for goal, they didn't kill the game once they went up 1-0. Gerrard and Lampard is a pairing that still leaves many wondering what's going on? Lampard is just not the same with England as he is with Chelsea. My personal opinion, I think Rooney would've benefited from having Joe Cole on the pitch, but then again this is just second guessing.

Conclusion: This is the second best result for the USA (first being 3 points :D), now the points are there for the picking against the other sides in this group. I still think England will advance, they would need a meltdown against Slovenia and Algeria to crash out. As for the USA, I want to see where their goals are going to come from in the next 2 matches. Their forwards need to get on the score sheets.

  3. I think if Nigeria are going to get any kind of result out of this one it will have to come down to discipline. Stay focused at the back, watch for Argie counters, and don't commit any silly cards. With that said, I can't wait to see what Maradona has in his bag today, should be a good one :D

  4. I thought Greece looked terrible in this game. Total lack of creativity at the top, terrible marking lead to the first goal. There were about 4 blue shirts playing zonal marking on that set play, and still S. Korea was able to score. Total lack of focus there, and the second goal was really just a bonus for the Koreans who had worked hard all day. Big mistakes lead to the 3 points today for the Koreans. This is a really unforgiving tournament and it showed today. Congrats to SK for the 3 points.

  5. I think it was a poor effort on France's part. Ribery at times was frozen, no one around him was making any runs. Also, I saw way too many players slipping on that pitch, terrible. The next match day will be very telling, any team that comes away with 3 points is surely in position to advance to the second round. SA/Uruguay, France/Mexico....hmmmm, France will have their hands full. SA/Uruguay? Very interesting tie :D

  6. First, I think England will beat the US. The key to the US going through is to not let the England result kill your confidence. Get right back out there against Slovenia and get 3 points! The Slovenia and Algeria matches have 6 points for the picking. Usually in world cup group stages 6 points will get you through to the second round. England will top the group.

  7. Really looking forward to this one. Uruguay is actually my dark horse for the tournament, I can see them getting points from Mexico and South Africa. I'm actually quite curious to see what France's tactics will be for this game, and what their opening formation will be.

 World Cup is here !

  8. Really good opening game, loved the packed stadium, and the vuvuzelas don't annoy me (I think I'm the only one lol). First goal was great, just a classic counter attack, caught Mexico off guard. Second goal was a mistake, but this tournament is very unforgiving, one mistake could cost you a goal and a few points. I thought Mexico's weakest link was their keeper, and it almost cost them all 3 points late in the game. SA's weakest link was their back line, and again, that lead to Mexico's goal.

Glad that the World Cup has opened play, currently waiting for the Uruguay France match which should be great. I still think Mexico can make it out of the group, but SA? Not so much, they'd have to take points from Uruguay and France, and with their shaky back line I don't think they will make it. Tough, tough, I'm pulling for them to get through, but it will take great results from the aforementioned teams.

  9. Got it on the 18th, its an amazing open world game. You can do it all, from playing poker to changing outfits to hunting down the local bandit for bounty money. Great stuff in this one, A LOT to do in this game. Oh, and theres also multi player online, which is a whole separate entity. 10/10 in my book.

  10. I enjoyed playing FIFA 10 online for a while, but it quickly got boring because my opponents would always use the same big clubs (Man, Real, Barca, etc) ZZZzzzzzzz

Played the FIFA WC 2010 demo today, pretty sweet, can't wait till its released.
