  1. Nice goal. The camera angle is pretty awkward to watch though.

Anyone noticed that when you're playing on Legendary (and possibly worldclass) that players like Modric and Sneidjer seem to take obscene shots from range that narrowly miss or come off the bar? When ever I play United or City in my career mode players with 85+ ratings seems to love taking shots from range.

I must say that they never go in but they're really powerful. Quite astonishing to watch really. :)

  2. I just got sacked again from the Wigan job (it's happened twice now). :(

I'd managed to save up enough to bring in the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Senderos, Traore at the beginning of the season to add to the likes of Josh Mceachran, Deco and Moses and had even managed to reach the League Cup final in the first season (I lost to Tottenham on penalties). In both seasons I avoided relegation on the last day and then they sacked me and the only reasonable job offer I got was from Birmingham (who I don't fancy that much) so I'll probably start a new career in a week or so.

I really find it quite frustrating that I've been sacked after building a relatively strong squad with a limited supply of money (I use Legendary board status or whatever it's called) and over achieve with the resources I had a still get sacked. I think the next career I start will be with a world class board difficulty so I have more time to build up my team.

  3. West Ham are good if you want a nice solid foundation to start off with (I haven't had a career mode were they haven't been promoted in the first season) whereas Leeds and Crystal Palace are more of a challenge (but will give you the option of building your own team). Bolton would also be alright if you want to start in the EPL, although they have no big 'star' names that really stand out in their squad (except for maybe Cahill).

  4. I'm halfway through my first season with Wigan (I had to start again) and I'm currently 10th and still in all competitions. Brought in players like Deco for 4 million (who's been my star player so far), Zidan from Dortmund for around 5 million and Josh Mceachran for 8 million. Sold off a lot of fring players but I have absoulutely no budget to renew player contracts at the end of the season (so I could potentially loose Rodellega for free).

Stoke just had a take over in the game and from the reports it looks like they'll soon be the richest club in the world, so I may try and sign for them at the end of the season to start my own Manchester City revolution.

  5. Guess I might have to give The Kings Speech another look. When I originally heard of it I blew it off because I didn't figure it would be that interesting. Craigs List Killer: never even heard of it. And based on that kind of review, I don't think I will ever bother to find out more.

I was also pretty skeptical when it came out but then I saw all the reviews and everyone I spoke to about it said it was terrific. I must say that I now agree with them!

  6. The Inbetweeners Movie:

It's received a pretty mixed reception but I really enjoyed it. It didn't need to have a great or even good story line because it was a teen movie and like the American Pie movies, people aren't really watching it for a story line anyway. It had all a good teen movie needed to have so I think it fulfilled it's purpose. 8/10

    The Kings Speech:

One of the best movies I've ever seen. I don't think there was one moment when I was bored throughout the movie. Great story line, concept (know concept doesn't really count if it's a true story but still) and the actors and the roles the played were superb. It was really brought together nicely as well. 9/10

    The Craigs List Killer:

Complete and utter shit. In fact, It's probably the worst movie I've ever seen. The whole thing wasn't pulled off that well at all. 0.5/10

  7. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably go with Blackburn as I hate using the same career mode team twice (unless it's Arsenal).

Actually screw it, I hate Blackburn and I've been inspired by Wigan draw against Chelsea. :P

  8. I've researched it a bit and it looks like my file is well and truly corrupt and that I now need to create a new career mode. Any suggestions on what team I should go with?

  9. anyone know how to fix a corrupt career mode file? Whenever I go into my Wigan career mode and after I finish a league cup game the HD symbol just flashes and the screen basically freezes. I've tried restarting the PS but the same problem always happens (regardless of whether I sim or play the game). Any suggestions on what to do?

  10. I'd recommend Jame McCarthy at Wigan who you should be able to get for under 15 million. He starts off at 75 and can reach 83 and is a great player to make money off (you can easily make a big profit off him after 2 seasons if you plan to sell). Other players you could look at are Victor Moses (72 can reach 81) or Iturbe (starts at 74 and can reach 88).

  11. One player I'd definitely recommend is Stephano Okaka (AS Roma). He's a strong forward who is great to use as a target man (i.e. the furthermost player in a 4-3-3) who starts at 70 and can reach around 77. I think you can buy him for around 4 million at the beginning of the first season and although his potential isn't that glamorous, he's definitely worth the 4 million you'll spend on him.

  12. Guys, I am currently in a manager mode with Genoa in my second season, and i have players like Didier Ya Konan, Urby Emmanuelsen, Fernando Canesin, Alexander Merkel, and Fredricko Mirando ( Worth 32 million and has potential 88)... can you suggest to me young, cheap bargains plzzzz?

I think it would be worth you taking a look at this website. It has different catergories but basically shows you which players reach what potentials in FIFA 12. So say a player like Messi, it would show you that he starts at 92 (or whatever it is) and can reach a max potential of 96. You can find players that start at 57 and reach 83 (although the process takes a fair few seasons).

  13. Yeah, I''ve also started to get very tired of Career mode. Might try something new soon to challenge myself.

I honestly need to play on Semi-Pro in order to win games. I used to be pretty good at FIFA and was able to play on the World Class and Legendary difficulties with little problems. FIFA 12 is the hardest FIFA game that I have played.

Yeah, I started off playing on Semi-Pro but i''ve really found that after a while, you'd find that you can easily get used to world class (and if you're playing with a top team even legendary). The AI pretty much has a pattern in both it's defending and attacking, so you can easily get used to both after a few games. I can manage the odd 6-1 against Wigan with my Arsenal side now on World Class which i'm pretty proud of.

  14. 2nd season

    League - 6th, only 1 off 6th and 2 off 4th, so was unlucky!

    FA Cup - Won it!

League Cup - 4th Round :shift:; Gordon was a cpmplete whore in the match, he saved friggin' everything and got a 10/10 rating!

Europa League - Semi Finals - Already explained what happened the other day (away goals)

And in the new season transfers window I've already got two brilliant deals, I got a 77 rated 21 year old left back with the crosser trait and a 77 rated Stiker with 80+ accelaration, speed and Streght and he has the Strenght, Acrobat and Speedster stat (Is that even possible in real life!?), so looking for an even better season next time!

What difficulty do you play on?

  15. I know its get boring to play with the big clubs but I kinda want to grow the young players that I have bought in. I want to become SAF of Fifa 12 :D

Yeah, I always try to emulate Wenger's youth policy when I do a manager mode. Gets boring after a while because I always end up buying the same young players and then never see them blossom because I become bored of the game and start a new career mode.
