I actually played a surprisingly addictive game the other night. 'Splosion man for the Xbox. Its an arcade sort of game but really funny.

Its such a simple game in looks and gameplay but hey, it kept us occupied
'Splosion man can actually be quite tough on some levels. Also, there's a sequel if you like the first one enough. Ms. Splosion man.

As for getting my parents to play video games, I've given up on that years ago. The last system they really enjoyed playing was the Atari 2600.

My mum's always been awesome like that, sometimes in high school I'd get home and she'd be like "Wanna play Spyro?!". Obviously my answer was a huge "Hell yeah!".

This I know. Requires a lot of teamwork. Crazy when I think the amount of time and effort needed nowadays to make games lifelike and this humble title does the trick

There's quite a lot to be found in the arcade. I also have Torchlight, Zen Pinball, Bastion, and several more. At 1/4 or less the price of a regular retail game, the value on some of these titles is excellent. For those of us over the age of 15 who grew up with Atari, NES, SNES, etc, we probably have a greater appreciation of the simpler titles/experiences.

Well finished up Gears 3 last week. Not sure if it's just been too long since I played the prior games, but this one did seem like the best of the bunch and a fittingly "Epic" conclusion to the trilogy.

I've since gone back to playing Battlefield 3 online. I really, really need to actually stop doing that and play the campaign already.
